First Erasmus Students of Izmir University

Izmir University is excited to be sending its first Erasmus students in academic year 2011-2012 fall semester. 

 

As a young university starting its fourth academic year soon, Izmir University received its Erasmus Charter in December 2010 and signed 14 Erasmus agreements with 10 different European countries so far. After sending its students abroad at the end of August, the University aims to become a center of attraction and receive students from Europe and neighboring countries.

 

Students of Business Administration department Öykü Bihter Dağal and Levent Çağkan Özkan will study at Finland HAMK University of Applied Sciences'da; and students of International Relations department Çağrı Duygu and Ayberk Kaynak in Romania, University of Pitesti as Erasmus students.

 

The students attended the orientation meeting organized by the International Relations Office during which they were informed about their rights and responsibilities. Rector Prof. Dr. Kayhan Erciyeş, vice rector Prof. Dr. Tuncay Ege, director of Graduate School of Science Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülnur Erciyeş, International Relations Office director Güneş Demirel and Aslı Kuşoğlu gave advice to the students about living abroad during the meeting. Rector Erciyeş told the students that they have a responsibility to represent our university and country as best as they can.
