Izmir University intends to cooperate with Western Kentucy in United States to offer its associate, undergraduate and graduate students to study at WKU.

Dr. Peter Hamburger, who is the head of the Mathematics and Computer Science department visited Izmir University rector Prof. Dr. Kayhan Erciyeş, mentioning that they can accept transfer students from all levels. Dr. Hamburger also stated that they can offer 50% scholarships to students whose GPA is above 3,40 and full scholarships to graduate assistants.

During the meeting, staff exchange and organization of subject-specific summer schools for American students upon demand was discussed, too. Dr. Hamburger also gave academicians a seminar titled "Extremal Results in Combinatorics".
