Izmir Universities Platform Internationalization Meeting Print E-mail

Izmir University International Relations Office attended the Internationalization Meeting held at Yaşar University Selçuk Yaşar Campus on March 9th 2010 Tuesday, within the framework of Izmir Universities Platform. From now on, international offices of Izmir universities will regularly meet and work together to turn Izmir into a city of universities and contribute to its internationalization process.

Izmir University hosted an information meeting on March 1st about European Voluntary Service, which is a program classified under Action 2 in Youth Programme of the European Union.  During the meeting which students showed remarkable interest, Büşra Güder and Şefik Emre Coşkun, officials of Turkish Ex European Voluntary Service Association in Izmir (TREXEVS – http://www.trexevs.org) gave detailed information about the program. Ex volunteers also attended the meeting, sharing their experiences and answered questions of participants.

Western Kentucky University is now accepting transfer credits from Izmir University Print E-mail

WKU is delighted to announce that they will be accepting transfer credits from Izmir University.  All transfer credit inquiries must be directed to the Office of Admissions at WKU.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) will offer scholarships to international undergraduate students who will start their education on September 2010.

The International Relations Office has organized an EDUCATION USA presentation about education and scholarship opportunities in the United States in order to inform our students and answer their questions on January 7th Thursday, at 14.00 in room A L05.  The presentation was made by the Education USA Coordinator Aylin Dewan, and Education USA operates within Turkish American Association.  Aylin Dewan gave useful information about education and scholarships in the US and application tips for graduate programs, and answered questions.

The French National Agency is organizing a seminar for young people and policy makers on 10-14 March 2010 in Vernon, France.  The application deadline is February 1st 2010.  The working language is English and no translation services will be available during the seminar.

The Business and Policy Forum in Finland (EVA) nominates20 successful joniur fellows for 2 years among young people aged between 18-28.  Junior fellows are invited to free seminars in Finland and have the opportunity to get to know business and investment sectors.  The application deadline for Turkey is February 15, 2010.  Foreign students should check their own application deadlines.
